While down in North Vancouver

IMG_2246IMG_2248IMG_2253IMG_2245 IMG_2247Managed to visit some plant nurseries and gardens while down in North Vancouver.  Always looking out for new varieties  and found a great selection of stock at Garden Works as well as Home Depot of all places (although most of the plants are brought in from the same supplier like Burnaby Lake Greenhouses).  Picked up a variegated creeping phlox and a lovely little dianthus.  Couldn’t resist picking up another peony .. as I already have a double pink one, I chose a cerise red this time.

I was very fortunate too to visit a unique garden which was overflowing with bluebells and jammed packed with an array of hostas, azaleas and rhododendron with some lovely feature trees.  I found a lovely patch of epimedium with a little california poppy poking through.   It was such a delightful spot and as much as I would like to emulate this garden, I have to be realistic and know that this would not work in my Okanagan garden.

Tomorrow I am off to do my first garden consult…
