Once again I find myself camping at Skimikin Lake.  Even though I have been retired for a couple of years now, it still is good to get away from it all.  When I say get away from it all, I mean with no distractions with either cell phone or using the internet.  It is a good time to just sit back and reflect.  I really appreciate the tranquility particularly when I am out on the lake kayaking.

I am really enjoying taking photos of the birds and wildflowers.  I have been closely watching the geese and almost 40 goslings.  They are constantly on the move and love foraging for food among the wild flowers and wild mint.  I have also spotted a couple of loons.  Just love to hear their familiar call as we are nodding off to sleep at night.  I captured a mother duck and ducklings too.

The views from the trailer are verdant green hills and an azure blue sky with cotton ball clouds.  It’s fascinating how the colours of the hills and lake change depending on the time of day.  From the dappled sunlight coming through the trees to the pink tinged clouds as the sun is setting.Beautiful skyline

This is truly experiencing nature at its best.  Finally too my husband was able to get out and do a spot of fly fishing although to date no fish caught yet.
