BLAZE OF YELLOW LEAVES

This is my favourite time of the year to capture the essence of fall in Fintry Provincial Park.  I have a particular walk I go on each day and I spent a good couple of hours this morning taking photos of scenes along the way while the sun was shining. At the start of my walk along by Shorts Creek it is just a blaze of yellow and as I reach the Avenue the scene changes slightly with still touches of green throughout the deciduous trees.

Long have the campers gone and there is complete stillness apart from the odd bird scurrying through the bushes.  I am always on the lookout for bears particularly at this time of year.  There is plenty of bear scat around.

There is a small trail down to the lake which my daughter’s dog Rufuss just loves.  I sit on a log and take in the views around the lake and the ever-changing scenery.view-of-lake view-of-lake2 view-of-old-dockI walk back along the trail linking up with another path that eventually cuts through the field.  At this point I can look back on the trees lining the Avenue and in front of me is a view of the barns.

I know I have mentioned this many times before but I always feel privileged to have this on my doorstep.

Looks like I made it back home just in time as there is now a sudden downpour of rain.  That is what I love about photography you really do need to capture that moment as it soon passes.
