Just loved our walk this morning with two “borrowed dogs” (Rufuss and Scout).  I have to say I have been a little negligent lately in doing my daily walks so it felt really good to get out even though the weather was a little blustery.

Once again along our walk I was taken in with the fall colors and more particularly all the berries that are prominent right now.  There are numerous wild roses in the park and it’s just lovely to see the lush red rosehips.  They contrast against the many snowberry bushes which have masses of white berries.  There are many mahonias (oregon grape) throughout the park too whose leaves have turned to a burgundy red and I spotted a few blue berries.

As I was walking I reflected on the day before.  I attended a small wedding of a young friend of mine who I used to work with (we both have a common interest, i.e. gardening).   I was very taken by the shear simplicity of  the event.  The actual ceremony was held in Benvoulin Heritage Church (Kelowna, BC).  What a charming place to hold a wedding.  The marriage commissioner was most efficient and I was captivated with the words obviously carefully thought out by my friend and now husband that were expressed outside of the traditional vows.  The reception too was very well done and the flower arrangements caught by attention – a contrast of pink/peach roses with a chartreuse green hydrangea.

Last but not least, Rufuss and Scout had a wonderful run this morning.
