Sunflower with honeybeeIMG_3309IMG_3307

Once again after being away for almost two weeks, the garden has taken off again.   I could not believe the size of my Hydrangea Paniculata (Limelight) bush. It is more like a tree and has so many blooms on it.  Another neighbor came by who is having a wedding today on the waterfront and wondered if she could use some of the flowers.  I willingly said just help yourself.   I am so pleased too with my rudbeckias that I grew from seed.  They are such a cheery plant (the one in the photo above is nestled with the sedum (Autumn Joy).  Both these plants are great in flower arrangements.  With more company arriving tomorrow, they will come in very useful as well as the blooms from my double yellow/pink rose.

Finally now the sunflowers are in full bloom and putting on a great show.  It is lovely to see the honeybees hovering around them.   The sweet peas have doubled in size overflowing over the garden fence with the odd little cosmos peaking through which self seeded from last year.

The flowering baskets have picked up as well.  They were not looking too great before I left, but now have also doubled in size.   I also spotted a lovely orange portulaca among the rocks along by the little stream my husband created.  IMG_3366Front garden, phlox, sweet peaFront basket

All in all, my garden has reached it’s peak with all round colour.

Would love to hear your feedback.
