As we reach the end of May the garden is fully flourishing and with the weather cooling off towards the end of the month there has been another spurt of growth.  I was only away for a few days but I came back to all the peonies in bloom, at least 3 or 4 varieties of roses in flower including the front arbour climbing rose as well as purple salvias and lavenders.

May has been a busy month starting with our camping trip earlier in the month and then ending with our MG run in Wenatchee and an unexpected trip down to the Northern part of the Oregon coast.  I therefore have an abundance of photos to share but will limit it to just a few.  Despite inclement weather the MG run was very successful.  On one section of the run just outside of Wenatchee I was absolutely amazed at the banks of wild flowers; the balsamroot was still in bloom, yarrow, lupines and penstemon too.

We also stopped by Entiat Lake which had a number of perennial beds in flower.  I was impressed by the display of delphiniums and the use of ornamental grasses.  

As we neared the coast, the range of flowers completely changed in keeping with coastal conditions.  It has been awhile since I have seen the following flowers.

Discoveries in Canon Beach area.  I was taken by the succulent pot and the container placed in an old rusty chair.

Certainly an eventful month both in the garden and on our travels.
