Gathering of berries, leaves, ornamental grass and evergreens

This is always an interesting time of the year when we are betwixt and between seasons.  We still have a lot of fall colour in the garden and most definitely in Fintry Provincial Park.  During my walk today I gathered plant material from the garden and roadside.  I came up with quite the collection and by adding some small evergreen branches it certainly made it a festive arrangement.  With not quite being ready for outdoor Christmas decorating this ultimate display will suffice until I can start on my fresh green wreaths towards the end of November.  Too bad that the snow berries and rose hips do not last as they would work so well in the wreaths.

Ultimate Arrangement – A mix of berries, evergreens, mahonia leaves, smokebush leaves and ornamental grass

Meanwhile as the days shorten I still aim to do my walks through the park and garden clean up on the finer days.  I was really pleased to see that numerous trees, both deciduous and evergreen, have been planted throughout the new campsite area.  Once they are established they will provide much needed shade.

As we near remembrance day I always think of my parents and grandparents that were affected by World War II  and to all those who served.

Lest We Forget

Just a short blog note today…until next time.
