August Review

White and pink phlox, rose, perovskia Rudbeckia, blue salvia Maroon osteospermum Double apricot roses with spiderChrysanthemumsSingle gallardiaThere is still plenty of colour in the garden towards the end of August.   I know that I have mentioned it several times but the rudbeckias have really put on a good show this year.  They have been blooming (and are still flowering) since early July so I can’t say enough about the value of these plants.  The annual variety is certainly more vibrant than the perennial one.

August once again has been a blur for me with entertaining guests, going on MG runs and doing wedding shoots so I am more than ready for the quieter days of September and quiet walks in the park.

While my husband was discussing MG’s at the Peachland Rally in the Valley run, I wondered around and admired the baskets and flower displays in front of The Gasthaus (our favourite restaurant).  We then went onto Wild Goose Winery in Okanagan Falls, BC and it was lovely eating supper in the bistro while the sun was setting on the vineyard.  It is always fun doing these runs as you meet people from all walks of life, young and old.

There are many berries forming on the cotoneaster.  Initially I thought this was a sign that we were going to have a bad winter.  Far from it though as I was informed by one of my followers that this only shows that it was well pollinated this year.  Berries on cotoneaster

Looking forward to doing my next wedding shoot mid September at Cedar Creek Winery in Kelowna BC along with Mark Your Moments Photography.  We are taking bookings for next year so if anyone is interested in a wedding shoot within the Kelowna/Kamloops area please call Anita (owner of Mark Your Moments Photography) for price packages at 778-538-2711 or email anita@markyourmomentsphotography.  Check out her facebook page too @markyourmomentsphotography
