Findleberry Front Gate (1 of 1)As we near the end of 2015, for me it is a time of contemplation and there is no better place for me to do this while walking in the snow-covered Fintry Provincial park.  It felt good after all the turkey dinners and baking I have had over the last few days.  Even though I am not particularly keen on the cold weather I could not help be in awe of the beauty of the season which I have tried to capture in the photos below.

The camp ground, which is usually bustling in the summertime with campers and their families, is now a peaceful snow laden forest and I stood their and enjoyed the stillness.

The weeping copper beech tree is sagging further due to the weight of the snow and in my garden the fir, Japanese maple and pine trees are drooping too due to the amount of snow stuck on the branches of the trees.

Lastly, photos taken of the frozen creek and surrounding forest.

I think I can safely say that my plants and shrubs are well protected with this amount of snow on them.  This year too my husband has reinforced the deer fencing although I do feel at times it is like “Fort Knox” just trying to open the driveway gates.Bird Bath Bed (1 of 1)

As I now sit by the fire, I am already planning ahead as to changes I will be making to the garden next year and possibly to my gardening blog, seeds that I will be ordering and further developing my photography skills.  What are your plans for 2016?

I sincerely hope that you all have a very Happy, Healthy New Year and more than anything I wish for more Peace in the world.
