Plenty of Spring Blooms and Buds
Spring has definitely sprung in the Findleberry garden. After being away over Easter for just over a week I was amazed to see how green the lawn is and clumps of bulbs in bloom randomly throughout my garden beds. It is a great time of the year when you discover new shoots and blooms appearing daily.
The witch hazel is still in bloom and the yellow flowers on the forsythia are just about to burst open.
I am surprised this year that I have not had so much winter damage. I think it was mainly because the flower beds were coated in such a deep layer of snow. In the end it protected the plants from harsh cold temperatures.
The scene was very different down in West Vancouver and over on Vancouver Island. Spring is more advanced by at least 2 to 3 weeks. So many plants, trees and shrubs were blooming in particular the magnolia and cherry trees. Here is just a sample of what I captured.
I had some fun over Easter too with the grandchildren who were lucky to be in two Easter egg hunts. An unexpected visit in Dundarave BC by the Easter bunny as well as being entertained by a Regatta.
I hope you are seeing signs of activity in your garden and if not, at least this will give you glimpse of what is yet to come within the next few weeks.
