I have been away from the garden these past few days helping plan my grandson’s first birthday and celebrating with friends and family down  by the park at Ambleside.  My daughter is very creative and chose a “Beatrix Potter” theme.  It brought back memories when my children were young and reading them the tale of Peter Rabbit and how he ventured down to Mr. McGregor’s vegetable patch.  I could not believe the detail in my daughter’s creations from the vintage high chair, the vegetables on the cup cakes made out of candies to the figurine of Peter Rabbit on the birthday cake.  I know at the age of one it meant little to my grandson but I hope when he is older and looks back at all the family photos, he will appreciate the efforts that were made for his 1st birthday celebration.  It was certainly a most memorable moment for me.

Needless to say I dedicate this post to my daughter, Anita, who ceases to amaze me with her creative skills.
