Thyme Poking Through the Snow

After being away for a few days I was happy to see that the snow has retreated a little and there is life under that blanket of snow and patches of green grass poking through.

As I wondered around the garden even before entering the house, I discovered my double lilac primrose in bloom and a mass of pink buds on my hellebore plant under the fir tree.

I also checked my pots of bulbs that are buried under leaves which have since been covered with snow and they too are showing new life with little green shoots coming up through the earth.

Meanwhile inside the house I am enjoying the flower arrangement that my daughter gave me on the weekend.  It is purple themed including a collection of chrysanthemums, a single two toned rose and a single gerbera along with some purple statice and lilac alstromeria.   This is intermixed with greenery which sets off the flowers.  I had a lot of fun taking photos using my macro lens.
