Well how time flies. I am fast approaching my one year anniversary of the Findleberry gardening blog and I want to celebrate this with my viewers with not only a give-away prize but to share what I have learnt over my gardening blog year. I have been guided recently by a young entrepreneur, Sarah, who has inspired me with her website called Unsettle.org. Sarah has provided good advice as regards to why I started my blog and obviously initially it was because I have such an interest in gardening. More importantly though it has given me something to focus on every day; whether it be a photo of a flower or writing down random notes that help me compose my blog posts.
Believe it or not, we all have a creative side in us and one thing I have learnt more than anything, and have now become quite passionate about, is photography. In order to capture people’s attention, it is not just the content of what I write but through improving my botanical photography, it draws attention to my site . Just recently I captured the unfurling of the crocus flower and the detail in the bottle brush flower taken in Southern California. My husband is amazed how far I have progressed with the photography. He used to say that I went around with my eyes shut. Now, I look at things with a whole new perspective.
It takes a while before you really know your audience and I am still working on improving my blog content and photography. I am always open to new ideas and suggestions from my viewers on how to achieve this. It is often just the random post on my facebook page that gets more attention than the detailed blog post that has taken me a long while to compose.
