Autumn Vibes

As we move into the fall season, there are “autumn vibes” throughout my garden from the ever changing blooms on the hydrangea paniculata to fall perennials blooming.  Leaves are slowly changing on my japanese maples and I love to capture the sunlight filtering through the leaves.  The colours of the fall garden are ever present created by the flowering rudbeckias, sunflowers, chrysanthemums and asters.

After being away again on a camping trip; this time to Monck Provincial Park near Merritt BC, it is lovely to finally have some home time.  My walk through Fintry Provincial Park (www.fintryprovincialpark.com) yesterday was very different from a few weeks ago.  Most of the park sections have been closed off but there are still those avid campers in the original area.  There are plenty of signs of Autumn in the park too with varying berries attracting both birds and bears.  Lovely sprays of different kinds of grasses and changing foliage.

Walks Throughout Fintry Provincial Park

With an increased amount of rainfall this past week my garden is still looking very lush and green.  I am reluctantly starting to dismantle some of the hanging baskets.  I find this time of the year some of the plants are very straggly.  Meanwhile in the vegetable patch a squash plant seems to have taken over.

It is now at least the third blooming on a number of my roses, some of which I have cut for indoors along with the last of the sweet peas.  Their fragrance is truly amazing.

Roses Still Blooming Throughout the Garden

Wishing you all a very happy Fall/Autumn.  Maybe we will still get a delayed Indian summer.
