As my girlfriend said to me this morning on our walk to pick cherries everything is happening all at once and you do not know where to begin first. I do agree that it does become a little overwhelming this time of year with keeping up the maintenance of the flower and vegetable gardens.  With me personally I like to take photos every day; the blogging and editing can be all-consuming if you let it.  I often wonder how I managed to work full-time.

Nature certainly abounds in the area we live in.  Just this morning I captured a humming bird feeding on my nasturtiums and then I was startled by a deer grazing close to where I was weeding.  

Black capped chickadees are nesting in my front bird box and swallows in the back bird house on the shed.  I  haven’t managed to capture them yet on camera but keep persevering.  From a distance though on my early walk in Fintry Provincial Park I did take a photo of a quail sitting on some old wood protecting its young below in the bushes.  This is when I could have certainly benefited from my zoom lens as it was getting quite fretful the nearer I came.  Loved the grasses though blowing in the wind and finally the creek has calmed down after the heavy run we had in early May.  

Every day now I can pick fresh flowers from the garden and I like to play around with different arrangements and see how well the flowers last.  I like this early summer bouquet which includes roses, shasta daisy, lavender, sweet pea and spirea blooms.  

At the end of the day I love to sit in our outside patio area and listen to the fountain in the pond and birds singing.  It is a great place to reflect on the day and unwind.
