It has certainly been a while since I added a post to my website. Time seems to fly by and here we are nearing December and I am already prepping for the Christmas season.
Earlier this year we did try to sell our home but despite receiving a full offer the deal eventually collapsed. We are waiting to see what the New Year brings. As we were in the moving mode I did not do as much in my greenhouse and garden. It made me cut back on making hanging baskets. We continued to maintain the garden and eventually I started adding perennials and shrubs that I had lost last winter.
I love this time of year when I can start the outdoor greenery. My husband always does a lovely prune of our big fir tree and I certainly made use of the cuttings.
As I am writing this post, it is hard to believe that we still do not have any snow. Our Fall has been extremely mild; the consequence of which the leaves stayed on the trees longer providing an array of colours.
My Fall Garden
In addition to my garden it is always lovely to see the changing colours in our nearby provincial park; Fintry Provincial Park.

As the temperatures dip I have started on the Christmas inside decor. This year I had some help from my daughter. I always appreciate her creative touch. I have also made a start on my Christmas baking; very English traditional baking – Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, mince pies and shortbread. Oh the memories.
We have still been able to do some pruning and garden maintenance. My husband and I like to mulch the garden beds as much as possible with fallen leaves. Every winter varies but if we get a sudden cold snap we like to protect the garden beds as much as possible.
This is also a great time of year to unwind and relax. Reading a favourite novel or watching a classic Christmas movie.
Wishing all my followers on social media a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy Peaceful New Year. Due to recent postal disruptions this blog post may have to replace my annual Christmas card. A much loved tradition of mine.
POST SCRIPT. Since starting my post we have had a few snow flurries creating festive winter scenes.
