Colleen's back garden 2

At times I find it hard to get inspiration for writing a blog post.  Often it is just a simple thing that gives me an idea for a post.  This month I am helping look after my neighbour’s guest house (The Fintry Delta Guest House) and it was about this time last year that I helped the owners plan a garden at the back of the carriage house.

I was at the guest house today and realized that now there is quite an established garden. What a pleasure it is for guests to sit in this quiet spot and admire the flowers and the bird life it has attracted.  Despite the heat wave that we had, it is flourishing quite nicely.

Most of the plants that I gave the owners were divided from my own perennials, including shasta daisies, asters, daylilies, coreopsis and other plants have since been added including low growing thyme, low growing blue campanula, a lavender bush, sedums along with pansies and violas that are still blooming.   It just goes to show that it does not take much to create a small sanctuary for the Fintry Delta guests to enjoy.
