It is the season for peonies. I was away for a few days with my husband on an MGB run and when returning to my garden I couldn’t believe the number of peonies that were blooming. With the combination of rain and sunshine the blooms came out sooner than I thought.
It goes without saying that peonies are one of my all time favourite flowers. Not only do they put on a good show in the garden but they are great as a cut flower. They have lush green leaves and very attractive blooms. I do prefer the double peonies, particularly my white and pink variety. Key thing that I have learnt with growing peonies over the years is they do not like to be disturbed once established and they prefer a sunny location.
