Following on from my flowers in bud, now the alliums are in full bloom which attracts the bees and once again I have a lovely display of  blue flax (linum narbonense) with their delicate blue flowers and leaves.  

The early iris is now coming to an end and my Jacob’s ladder (Polemonium) has just started to bloom.   This perennial not only has attractive flowers but the foliage too adds interest to the garden.  

I have a yellow succulent that has just started to flower which has added some more colour to the rockery area as the blooms of the tulips and iris have faded.  

 I am always fascinated by the hummingbirds and I try to plant shrubs and flowers that they are attracted to.  Initially I do put out the humming bird feeder but once they have enough suitable plant material in the garden that they can use as a food source, I much prefer to let them feed naturally.  You can learn more about plants that attract humming birds via this link:
